Screw Pivot Trunion lower bolt

Anyone have four of these screw pivot lower reunion bolts for trade or sale?  Fits a 53 Willys Aero Lark.

I've got good news and bad news.

The good is that you can buy that bolt cheap at any hardware store in a couple grades of hardness, 5/8ths coarse thread (3/4 for late model trunnions). Probably have to buy one over length & shorten it for a match. Drill & tap for a zerk or fill your trunnion with grease and force the grease in as you turn the new bolt in.

The bad is that the threads in your trunnion are partially buggered too and a new bolt will tighten it up some but won't restore the joint to 100%.

I may have a used set in a parts box but at best the threads will show some wear on one side.

There are NOS trunnions availaible. John Parker had many that are now owned by Duane Hayes in Colorado. He bought them from Rudy Phillips. Dunno if they are in Colorado yet and accessible.
New lower trunnions are available for later 1952, all 1953 and the early 1954's (re-serialed) from a company called "Rare Parts" (that means you, Jim Betts) see link: http://shop.rareparts.com or call: Rare Parts Inc. 209-948-6005 / 800-621-2005. Lower trunnion is part number 15736 and upper is 15640. Your upper is probably okay, but check it anyway.

Unfortunately, the earliest Aeros and the later, Kaiser-engined Aero trunnions are not available thru Rare Parts.

I ordered a pair of NOS lower trunnion & bolt sets from rareparts last year and received the 2 1/2 degree type for early '52 Aeros. At the time I think they had 50 in stock and weren't aware that there were 2 types until I asked.

Maybe stock has changed there since I ordered, it's been a while.

They will fit my early '54 but instead I'm fitting control arms that take the larger late model trunnions and my brother is machining new trunnions to work on my steering knuckles. I have no idea if the early & late model steering knuckles have the same size thread for trunnions and if these will interchange to later models.
