Update for the club handbook?
« on: December 06, 2015, 10:51:00 AM »
Directed at everyone but focusing on Jack - since I recently re-aquired my dad's '51 Kaiser Special, I was reading through the handbook about that model. I see the paint/trim combination for it was not listed.  I don't know if the intention is to make the list of combinations as complete as possible but here's the info on the car:  Model K511, paint 130 (Horizon blue), Trim 1169 (not listed in the Handbook or Last Onslaught On Detroit).
I do have a picture of the original door panels before they were redone so it may give an idea of what Trim Code 1169 was/is:

He took them to SMS in Portland and this is what they matched it to:

I tried to take a picture of the data tag yesterday but it is bit dark in the shed where the car slumbers for the winter months so the picture is not real clear:

As I have noted various places on various occasions, I would like to remind members that I do not have a complete (nothing missing) set of Confidential Bulletins and one of the missing items is a piece issued during Summer or Fall of 1951 listing colors and trims available at the time.  It is known that there are other Kaisers out there that have paint/trim combinations I have no information on.  If someone has a paint/trim availability Confidential Bulletin from K-F or information from a distributor on their letterhead, please let me know so I can update the information in Version 6.0 before its release.

If nobody has it and doesn't want to share that is their right.

This particular car was purchased new in August of 1950. I have all the original paper work for it somewhere but I can't find it right now. It has most of the "early" features discussed previous - square window frame trim, no bright work around the windshields, no rub rail moldings... It does have the early 6 button GE radio.
