'54 Kaiser
« on: January 21, 2017, 02:20:55 PM »
Just bought my first Kaiser since last owning a '52 Manhattan in 1964! It is a beautiful '54 Special (early) 4-door. We have it in the shop getting ready for the trip home. Do not yet have a photo to post.

Are those the 54 Kaiser wire wheels?

Thanks for the compliments. They are the '54 wheels (spokes & K) to my knowledge. Even the spare wheel is like those on the ground.

The wire wheels on the car are the correct style. KF used what are called lip lace wheels, that is wheels with spokes that reach to the outer edge of the rim. Other manufacturers, like Chrysler, used rim lace wheels with spokes that only reach to the inner edge. Lip lace rims are the more rare of the two.
