Kaiser & HJ Die Cast Models
« on: July 09, 2010, 02:14:28 PM »
I was in Manitowoc Wisconsin and saw die cast 50's models at a antique mall. These appear NOS models still in the box and have opening hood, doors and trunk. They look nice. There was a 53 kaiser Manhattan and a 51 Henry J. The HJ was pale yellow and about 10 inches long and 4 wide. The Kaiser was a light blue body with a white top and was about 12 inches log and 4 wide. The asking price was $60 for the Kaiser and $75 for the HJ. If interested I will be going up there again in a month or so. The mall is located at the NE corner of I43 and Hwy JJ. This is exit 152 going North on I43.

The HJ sells for that on ebay once shipping is figured in. The 53 would be a decent buy and I would be interested in it.

The Henry Js have been all over the internet for the last two years. They sell from $48 - $52 + shipping.  The Kaisers would be cool. Any pictures?

The 53 Kaiser is probably the Hwy 61 Diecast -  A two door.   All but the back window shelf appear correct.  Very nice

In retrospect, I had left the camera in the car. The Kaiser is indeed a 61 Diecast. The Henry J was a called a Sun Diecast I believe. I'm sure they may be open to offers.

The Sun Cast HJ is available as a regular item in other stores, on ebay and from the museum in Ypslianti.  The Highway 61 1953 Kaiser is not in production at present.  It is not available from main distribution and almost all store stocks are exhausted.  They do show up for sale on ebay, but the numbers have started to dwindle of late.  The Green seems to be the best...check the cut of the doors into the roof panel.

There was a member at the Kerrville meet that brought several K-F and Darrin toys to the meet for sale.  I was able to purchase a four inch Japanese tin 1947 Kaiser sedan with a wind-up motor and remote steering.  Also a 1951 German Kaiser Gama Sedan with a plastic body and tin chassis.  It is about seven inches long.
