I am looking for a Henry J master cylinder remote filler kit, or...any suggestions for an alternative device.

Hi Terry, my '52 Henry J Vagabond has a Darwin unit on it. Probably made back in the 50s as it is a glass jar with a metal cap and straps. When I got the car I saw it on there and wondered what the (expletive deleted) it was!  I  had never heard of such a thing. I traced the line down the master cylinder and then realized it was a huge plus to have one of these on a J!  Search ebay for one, I see them on there occaissionally. The Darwin would be period correct for your car.
Here's what it looks like (red arrow pointing at it)

If you don't care about it being period correct, I believe there are modern units too.
Here's one for a Volkswagon which you probably make work on a J -
