Reinforcement,Upper Radiator Support
« on: July 09, 2014, 10:13:45 PM »
At the National convention in Puyallup, it was pointed out to me that I was missing the "Reinforcement,Upper Radiator Support", figure 18-2 item 4, group 18.147 in the H. J. parts manual.

I have been looking at a lot of pictures trying to see if it is a bar or a piece of pipe. As far as I can see there are a lot of Henry J's that are missing that part! I'm assuming it will be hard to find one so I would like to make one if possible. Of course flat stock would be a lot easier to work with than pipe, but I'd like mine to be as close to stock as possible.

If anyone knows where I can buy one I'd rather buy one than make it.
If anyone has a good picture of one that would also be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, the early Henry Js did not have that part. If yours has no holes drilled for it, then it did not have it.
Here's what it looks like

1953 Henry J Corsair Deluxe
Edgar Kaiser's custom 1951 Henry J
1951 Kaiser Special
1952 Allstate Deluxe

Hi Fid,
It appears to be a pipe that has been formed. Is that right?
Since the part appears to be laying on the floor does that mean you have an extra one? I can always hope!

Thanks,
Mike
