Darrin's not doing well at Auctions

Last night at Auctions America, held in the Los Angeles area, a modified Darrin (Silver w/ Maroon interior) only made it to 65K before there were no takers.  Of course, it did not make the minimum bid, so it is still for sale.   These cars are not bringing what they used to and there seems to be one at almost every major auction.   There must be a glut of these Iconic cars that still stir the average person.

Does anyone know if that engine is painted a factory color? If so, what is it?

Hey guys, let's get real. An auction is only as good as it's bidders and what is being auctioned. Those 2 Darrins were not stellar examples and that's basically what they were worth to those folks bidding. At RM auction Amelia Island in March of 2014 an originally White but repainted Pine Tint, Cadillac engine transplant with Tremec transmission and modified suspension sold for $158K including commission. [$145K] Not a correct car by any means, but to the winning bidder worth the $158K. That auction is posted on YouTube.

Thanks Terry. Any idea what that color's named? I ask because it's very similar to the green on a Brazilian cylinder head........ sans aluminum dust.
