http://www.ebay.com/itm/RUST-FREE-ORIGINAL-KAISER-SPARE-TIRE-COVER-MANCAVE-RATROD-/291318280522?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43d3ec314a&vxp=mtr
The seller believes it's an original KF part but it looks to me like someone took a spare tire cover and fastened a '48 Kaiser trunk script to it. Anyone recognize it as a factory KF part?

I have to agree. It looks like the marriage of two different items...the cover and the script.

I think only the Virginians of 1952 had metal continental tire covers but I don't think they had any script on the tire cover and if they did, it wouldn't be from the 1948 Kaiser. I vote no to factory part.

That wheel cover was an accessory store item back in the fifties. You could buy them in sets. That spare tire cover appears to be one of the phoney types that bolted to a deck lid and didn't really carry a spare inside of it.
