Wiper motor wires

Guys, I need to determine what the red, green and black wires do on my '54's wiper motor.  Would hate to fry it putting the wrong wire to voltage.  I get the impression black wires were "hot" on my Kaiser wiring diagram.
Thanks to good advice, I got the resistor so it should handle my 12v battery.
