Any 49-50 Frazer for sale
« on: February 05, 2017, 06:06:17 PM »
Is there any good running 49-50 Frazer's out there? One that doesn't need much work.

Just looking. My body and paint guy said its cheaper to get one already done. I've seen a few
on line... I think the last 2 are the same car, None of them have the right lower trim for a Manhattan.

Both of these cars look quite nice.  A couple of notes about the first car (the Manhattan). The ad states it has "rare overdrive."  Overdrive was standard on all '49/'50 Frazers, it is not a "rare option." Not a biggie unless the seller has jacked the price up on the car believing it is.  Also, you asked about colors, the color schema on the first car is not factory issue. If you just want a nice car to drive, that's not an issue but if you're looking to win trophies at Kaiser-Frazer Owner's Club meets, this will cost points.

The second car is not a Manhattan, but it's a nice car too.  Some Manhattans, and the first car listed is like this, didn't have the belt line trim or wide rocker trim so from the outside the only real difference between these two is one is tutoned. Other differences, Manhattans have chrome inside window frames, chrome strips on the door panels, a chrome trim piece on the glove box door, color coordinated steering wheel, shift lever and signal light control knobs. All of these feature can be seen in the photos of the Manhattan.  Notice the standard (the second car) also has overdrive because they all did. The '49/'50 Frazers are rare cars among the KF line. You don't see a lot of them and they're nice to own and drive. My personal opinion, I think the '49/'50s are the best looking Frazers. Generally speaking you see fewer of them at shows than any other model.

This one has a nice look, but it's black and white and I can't tell the real color.

That's just like the one we restored in Omaha in the mid 1970s. My favorite pick of the day we brought it home after painting it.

No. It was sold in 1981. I have no idea where it is now or if it survives.

I'm Sure it's still around. It looks nice in the picture.

There's gotta be a few Frazer's hidden out there.

Here's another nice Frazer. It has a nice California color that's easier on the arm on hot calif days.
Was this a 49-50 color ?
I'm thinking of a color like this.

The 48 is painted Hickory Brown metallic over Doeskin. While the brown was available in 1949, Doeskin was not. It's closest match would probably be Bermuda Tan.

Here's another one, 49-50 Kaiser though, that i like the color of. Is this a "Frazer color" of that year too ?
And, could this color have been ordered with any other color available as a two tone, like the Dubonnet Maroon  ?

Who's Kaiser is that, the picture is at Dave's year end party who is local to me.

Here's a paint chip of the "Dubonnet Maroon"
