Ron is a friend of mine and has quite the collection. When I spoke to him last summer he mentioned getting ready to sell everything and move on. Apparently, now is that time.

I see lots of interesting stuff...an Auto Union (early Audi), a couple 2CVs, a Morris, a Bantam, a Checker, a Willys Aero or two and even a Panhard. His storage facility is near my office, I just might have to stop for a closer look.

'53 Rear fender toppers, '51 trunk handle, '51-'52 trunk hinges, '53 head light trim, '53 hood ornament and it's a two door. I wonder which year it was originally?

With so many lots, there will be some good prices.  If the word gets out, then the Darrin and Frazer convertible will sell for nice prices.

But the majority of the originals, projects, restorable class will go for $250 to $750.  I don't know for sure, I am just speculating but it is based on 4 project car auctions I attended in the past 14 months where many cars similar to these, nobody wanted, and the auctioneer had to beg for bids. Some crushers did not even want them. 

So, I would not mind seeing the auction list rather than the photos, since I believe it mentions 700 lots. I still probably would not bid serious money because of transport costs back to Iowa, but you never know. 

I wonder how many of these have titles.  Ohio is a hard state to get titles in, I have heard, for cars purchased without them.

if we apply deductive reasoning, I think it's a 53. Perhaps it was damaged in the trunk and it was replaced with a 51 trunk?  53 2 doors, pretty rare and interesting.

What the hell?  The link is dead and the auction has been removed from the Vanderbrink home page.  Is the sale cancelled?

Either Yvette is updating it or the seller has gone a different direction.  I could email Yvette - or you could - or just wait a bit.  That's a lot of content to put on the website.  I doubt that she would put the auction on the website without a contract, so I think it is just being reworked.

Yvette is a professional and tough.  A lot of project car sellers think they are sitting on gold mines. I don't know this seller and I doubt he needs the money, but the current project car market means many of these lots go for $250 to $500 a piece, especially if the money goes in the 1st 150 lots.
