Engine-Trans mounts
« on: January 30, 2017, 09:33:04 PM »
I've been looking around for new front & rear mounts for my 161 engine & trans. Parts book has the same numbers for all engines until the larger '54/'55 engine.
I thought these would easily cross to something Jeep since they look so similar but that's not what I'm finding, although I did see another thread here that gave a number for a Jeep 226 front engine mount, haven't found anything on the rear.

Anyone got part numbers that fit, or know of a good re-builder to send my cores to?

There was a new front one in my car when I got it....I'll have to get a part # for you. These look right for the front....but there is no cross reference https://www.kaiserwillys.com/category/engine/insulators-motor-mounts/front-motor-mount-insulator-fits-50-55-station-wagon-jeepster-with-6-161-engine. I did purchase a trans mount from them. It was for a jeepster. I do not see it listed but it was correct.I will also look for that part #. I would also think a Darrin trans mount would be the same

For the front mounts, you can also use NAPA 602-1020. They look the same and are less expensive.

Thanks for the info. I saw that listing at kaiserwillys, 2 different mounts pictured in the same listing. Mine (3 used sets) don't look like the first pic but very similar to the second. The napa number does go to one with a stud about the right length. Probably end up on the phone checking dimensions.
Still striking out on the rear.

Found the front & rear mounts, NOS at http://www.northwesternautosupply.com/ Don't have them yet but he was pretty sure he was right, only place I found that even had a book listing them.

Kaiserwillys.com said a Forward Control rear could work with modifications, didn't comment when I mentioned I wasn't finding fronts either.

Still waiting to hear back from Then & Now about re-vulcanizing. They have a pretty good selection of NOS & re-vulcanized Willys & Kaiser mounts but not these numbers.

The front & rear mounts from Northwestern arrived today, perfect match.

I asked how many sets were in stock and he didn't know.

Great! It is fun being lucky :) It would be interesting to know what else they fit as a cross reference
