clutch linkage parts needed
« on: May 12, 2018, 11:52:28 AM »
Trying to get Old Toby back on the road. I moved last November and cannot find the parts that make up the linkage from the shaft coming out the clutch/brake pedal assembly to the throw-out bearing arm inside the bell housing. I know I have them somewhere and they'll turn up eventually, but in the meantime, Old Toby wants to DRIVE to the National in July. I need all the pieces including the return spring. Anyone?

If you're also replacing the piece from the pedal assembly to the transmission, make sure what you get matches the "socket" piece on your trans or get that piece too. There may or may not be different sockets, but some early "levers" (for lack of a better term without checking the book) had a ball end, later ones a thick pin wrapped in rubber, that didn't seem to hold up well.

Thanx, Mark. Mine should be the same as yours, I think. Didn't yours have an F-head?

Yes, F-head with the rubber wrapped pin type, although I'm leaning towards using a ball type from a '52 F-head.
