1947 Kaiser Custom

Not a common car, only something like 5412 were produced for the model year. Seller says it runs and drives.

Is it really a Custom?  Customs had beauty rims standard along with Custom emblems on the front fenders and a Frazer interior.  There are no pictures of the interior.

The trim tag notes model 101 which is the Custom model.

The body number puts it about two thirds of the way thru 47 Custom production. So, it's not an early car but uncommon just the same.

It is a bit strange that there are no 'Custom' scripts on it and no holes where they would've been.  Also no rocker trim which the Custom had and no holes indicating there ever was any rocker trim.  The color however, Linden Green, and the paint code supports this (221) was only available on the Custom as was trim code 202 ( Green Sidewall/Rosetone Beige Cloth ).  The data tag is held on with screws as opposed to rivets so it could've been changed but that seems unlikely. Would be interesting to see it in person.

The tag is certainly from a custom but I do not think that it belongs on this car.  Why would anyone remove a cars original riveted on tag?

I believe the '48s (and likely other years around it) had the tags held on with screws as opposed to rivets. When I saw the '48 Custom my dad used to own in May, I took a picture of the tag, which I know to be original, and it's held on with screws (see attached) so that's why I doubt it was changed on the Craigs List car.  I only mentioned it because it could be changed easily. You're more likely to see that on Z28s and Boss Mustangs than on KF products. The Linden green color was only available on the Custom (not the Specials) so it could be authentic. I'd really like to see it up close and personal.

Early cars did indeed have the trim tags held on with screws. My 50 Traveler’s tag is held in place with screws. The serial number tag used rivets so I think a picture of it would tell the tale.
