Hood Hinges
« on: December 06, 2018, 10:55:45 AM »
I cant seem to get my 51 HJ hood hinges to function without it nicking the cowl and chipping the paint. It is a little sloppy but I snug the pins up. I also got a pair of repop springs. Still no luck. It works, but just as you go to open it settle down slightly in the back near the cowl and just nicks it. If I make the gap bigger (too bog) it works. I am open to any suggestions. Since it is a resto mod O am also open to any different hood hinger setups you did. Pictures if you can.
Thanks,
Ed

Welcome to Henry J ownership. They all do that and it's been an issue owners have been dealing with for many years.
See reply #18 in this thread.  It may help.
