Power steering announced for the 1954 Aero's
« on: September 19, 2019, 06:13:49 PM »
The Kaiser-Willys press release of January 20, 1954 announcing the new 1954 Willys models proudly stated that they would be equipped with Hydra-Matic transmissions and power steering available at extra cost.  The Eagle Custom comes in only red and ivory color with matching vinyl trim.  Did they ever produce any Aero's with power steering in 1954 or 1955?  Is this an announcment like the Hydra-matic to be available in the Darrin's?

I've never seen power steering in an Aero. The steering in my 54 AEC was so light it didn't need power assist.

Not about power steering, but steering related.
Duane Hayes swears the Gemmer steering equipped Aeros steer much lighter than the Ross equipped models.

I have never seen a power steering-equipped Aero of any year. That is not to say that none were made, but none have showed up in my travels in an Aero over the last 40 years.
