MY 1960'S RACING DARRIN BACK ON THE DRAGSTRIP

I have finished restoring Darrin #60 back to the way it was when I raced it in the 1960's. I owned this car from 1961 to 1970, raced it in the 1960's then sold it. I found out that Art Griffin had it and bought it back from him in 2007. It took me 4 years to restore it and just this weekend 5/5/2012 took it back out on the dragstrip here in Tucson Arizona and raced it . I was only allowed to race an 1/8 mile because it does not meet todays safety requirements. There were no timers for the 1/8 mile but my guess is it was going 100 MPH. It ran just like it did back in the 60's, straight as an arrow. It was fun to drive it again at age 66. I will have both my Darrins at the convention in TN. Hope to see you there.

Neat car Lee! Is that a big block Chevy in it?
Noticed some other neat cars in the video........a white '51 Studebaker, and what looked like a green Henry J.

It was alot of fun to drive the car again after 40 years. It is a 454 chevy big block with Hilborn mechanical fuel injection, vertex mag, ford beam, clutchflite trany.
Probably the fastest Darrin in the world.
