51 front
« on: September 25, 2012, 06:55:14 PM »
I took this pic today and it is supposed to be a 51 but I never thought to check the vin tag. Here is a pic of the front that is customized a bit and the hood piece seems strange, Henry.

The turn signal lenses make me guess it is an Allstate.
The arched bumper may even say 53?

I think there are too many bars in the grille for allstate.  Paint work suggests someone customized a 1951 HJ.

The grill bars and the hood trim center are definitely a custom job.

The fact that it does not have a glove box indicates it's a 1951 Henry J. Modified front grill.

1951 Kaiser Special
1952 Allstate Deluxe

That is a 1946-48 Ford heater and controls.  They were a good compact size heater and were used on many used cars.
