1953 Kaiser Manhattan distributor tune-up parts
« on: October 11, 2012, 05:33:59 PM »
I am finding lots of different part numbers on the various lists and on this forum.  Can anyone give me NAPA part numbers for the distributor cap, points, condenser and rotor? (Delco-Remy)or any other sources.   Also, does anyone know where I can obtain a rebuild kit for the Carter carburetor?(WGD-999S)  Thanks.  I always find great info on this forum, and appreciate everyone's expertise.

Rotor is NAPA RR83 for Delco. Points for Delco is Napa CS777A. Condenser for Delco is Napa SA174.
I will have to find my Cap and post Napa number tomorrow.

Cap should be same as used on 1949-54 6 cylinder Chevy Truck for the 1953 Delco-Remy distributors

Sorry, I didn't find the box for the cap, but I know Napa will have it.

AL tune-up parts are for Auto-Lite distributors; the construction is different enough so the parts do not swap out.  Also, you cannot swap out a Delco-Remy distributor for an Auto-Lite and vice versa; it throws the characteristics of the electrical system off if you mix brands.  You can mix Echlin and other aftermarket brands IF they are intended to replace the correct brand electrical item.
