Henry J window assembly

1952 Henry J - I got the new vent rubber finally into the frames by soaking in soapy dish soap water and using channel locks, they popped right in.
I have the division bars finally back from being chromed.   They look brand new.  I have everything laid out to put doors back together now.  Have some questions I am not finding answers to in the shop manual or parts book.  (The previous owner did the disassembly over 20 years ago, be a lot different if I had been the one to do the disassembly.)

1.  The top of the division bar (between vent window and door glass) Is the attached little bracket screwed or riveted to the upper door frame and upper part of the vent window?

2.  Regarding the new felt that goes in the channels, is it just snug fit into the division bar and the upper door frame or do I use weatherstrip adhesive to hold it?  Need to do something to hold the upper felt along the top edge.  Weatherstrip adhesive the answer?

3.  Between the division bar and the vent window is "Ventilator Division Bar Weatherstrip."  How are these rubber strips attached?  Weatherstrip adhesive?

My understanding is that this installation will be a two person job.  First person will be inserting and holding the new door glass while the second person sets in the upper door frame and runs the felt edges into the door glass edges, at the same time making sure the vent glass and frames make it to their position.  I am worried of breaking any glass and scratching the chrome that is visible on the division bar.  Anyone that's done this installation before, I would sure welcome your input/steps for putting the doors back together.

I imagine nobody wants to drive their Henry J to Los Angeles to show me the door would they? Or maybe take their door off its hinges and send me the whole door?  LOL

Forgive me but curiosity got the better of me...why haven't you contacted the region manager out your way to see if there are any members in your general area with a HJ to look at or get help from?  I do agree with you that looking at a car can answer a lot of questions about how things might go back together or come apart.

I was the SoCal Region Manager for 7 years and sadly, we have no members with Henry J's known in my area.  The only time I have seen a Henry J at a local meet was when Corsair Deluxe showed up in late 90's at a Hoffmans Hurrah.
If I knew of one in our Region, I would already have called to go see it.

Late John Parker had his White 53 HJ in his shop, but usually took the Blast Away 48 to local meets.  His Whiye 53, which is pictured in Last Onslaught, was the car that inspired me to want a Henry J, back in late 80's when restoring my 51 Deluxe

FYI, that car is now owned by Ken and Vickie Payton of Tucson, AZ. I saw it a couple of weeks ago when I was there. It's still in fine shape.

That is one neat car, they sold it before I knew they were selling it.   I will be happy once I get my car all together.

Some answers based on the 53 Allstate that I cleaned up a while back:
1. The bracket is screwed in place with a very short screw.
2. Originally, the channels were held in place with U shaped brackets that had teeth cut into them. You attached brackets to the weatherstrip and then pushed the two pieces into place and the friction from the teeth held the weatherstrip in place. In the absence of the brackets, I'd use weatherstrip adhesive.
3. I did not replace the rubber strip and the car is 185 miles away so I can't be of help on this one!

I replaced the glass in one door myself. I used alot of blue masking tape to make sure I scratched nothing. I got it done, but two people would have made the job a bunch easier!

Finally got the door glass in both doors, glad that's done!!!!
