Regional Office
« on: June 04, 2014, 01:46:57 PM »
Are there positions in the regional office that I could apply for? What makes someone qualified? How does it work? I can't seem to figure it out, and I would really like to volunteer my time to help out the club as much as I can.

When you are a member of the National KFOCI Club, that automatically makes you a member of the region that the state you live in is associated with.  If you live in Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Montana you would belong to the PNW (Pacific North West) Region.
We have elections for Regional Officers every two years.  Our elected Positions include a Manager, a Secretary, a Treasurer and a Historian.  We also have an appointed position the PNW Traveler Editor (that's me).  The Traveler is our Regional Newsletter that goes out six times a year.
What state do you live in??

Just for information since I've assumed that the Eastern Region which used to include New York was defunct, what region includes lower New York ?  I haven't heard anything from or about the region in years.  Steve

Steve, are you an active member receiving the Monthly News Bulletin? Meet info for all Divisions and Regions is published, usually for several months in advance of the event.

The Eastern Division is alive & well ~ for example, in May there was a Mid-Atlantic Meet and a Dixie Region Meet, in February there was a Sunshine Region Meet, last summer there was an Empire Region Meet, last fall was a Yankee Region Meet, and in August will be the Keystone Region Meet.

KFOCI events are not restricted ~ all members are welcome, regardless of division/region ... feel free to attend any that interest you.
