Looking for a couple of 1948 Frazer Parts
« on: July 28, 2014, 04:44:30 PM »
Hello all:

I am looking for the following parts for my 1948 Frazer Standard:

1) Oil Pan Drain Plug (or a proper replacement part).

2) Rear Main Seal- this seal is a rope seal. I bought FEL-PRO BS1280 and it is way too thick, although every website said it would fit my car. Can anyone tell me what part will work? FEL-PRO also made a part OS13347D, but I cannot find them anywhere. I believe this would work. Does anyone know where to get that? Victor makes rope seals but I do not know the correct part number for my car.

Any assistance would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

babbers: I used this same Fel-Pro set on my 51. To replace the rear main rope seal I used a 3/4 inch
round punch (or bolt with head cut off) and roll it over the seal slowly pushing the rope into the groove.
If you roll it over and over it smashes in. If you have the set you have nothing to lose, so try it.
