That is a nice looking car and it looked like a nice original before he painted it blue.  Apparently no overdrive but it has bumper guards and possible scarce full wheel covers.  The auction has lots of action with eight bidders.  He has a nice history of the Allstate car which is not 100% correct but is very interesting. It will be nice to see what it brings if he decides to lower his reserve.

The wheel covers are not ALLSTATE. When I had a 52 ALLSTATE with full OEM covers, I decided to put them away for safety and run the dog dish ones unless I was in a show. When I ran the full covers on Henry Js, I had bad luck with losing the front passenger side one. I found plain covers like the ALLSTATE from the old 3 wheel Harley cop motorcycle. They were exact copies!

Now days I am not sure they would be easier to find than the plain ALLSTATE ones. This is indicative of the amost usless information that goes to Beaulaland when we old geezers shove off.

Nice looking Allstate.  Yes, it has '51 Kaiser hubcaps but I'm sure the Allstate ones are hard to find. Check out the hubcaps Tom Britanyac had on his Allstate

I know they're not factory issue but they were strange.  Tom drove this car from Salem, OR to Oshkosh, WS in 2001 and he was 78 years old at the time!

When I got my Allstate I did not have any caps at all but got a nice set of small Henry J Caps from Terry Zeug.  I understand that you can Hammer the K flat and polish them and they will look just like the plain Allstate caps.  The full size Allstate caps must really be rare.  I was lucky to find a NOS set of '54 Willys wheel covers after I found that my mechanic had accidently thrown away my nice originals.

That Allstate large wheel cover sure looks nice!  One other thing that is specific to the Allstate is the door locks.  My car has large keys for the doors and is probably one of the few remaining cars without a trunk.  When the last hardbound Handbook was printed in 1980 the club was not aware that some Allstate's were made without a trunk lid.

I came across this 52 trunkless ALLSTATE in California many years ago.I did not know my ALLSTATES enough to question if it was a 51 or a 52.

Like the J, the early '52 Allstates had the early style tail lights. The '53 Allstate had them on the fender crowns same as the '52/'53 J. There were no '51 Allstates.

That is my Allstate!  Those pictures were in the ad for it.  There probably aren't many of the trunkless ones that survived.  That car was probably made on the first day of manufacture and it still looks the same.

It sure does.  I wished mine looked that nice.  I was there at that meet but did not have my Allstate then.
