1951 Kaiser Golden Dragon
« on: April 23, 2010, 06:45:43 PM »
Hello Everyone
I have noticed a 1951 Golden Dragon in kijiji Edmonton. It's located in Stettler Alberta, the owner wants $1000.00 CAD for it. But don't get your hopes up because it's been in a farmers field so long that the wheels have sunk into the ground.
  Thanks Roger

Several pictures of the car are also posted - if you go to KIJIJI Edmonton and enter Kaiser in the search it will bring it all up for you - but it is highly overpriced - $100 would be much closer than $1000 -

Was there special Vinyl in the golden dragon, or just the jade dragon?

Kaiser-Frazer came out with an interior trim package in December 1950 to offer something similar to the interior on the no longer produced Frazers.  The vinyl seats and interior trim was in fact an Accessory Group for the 1951 Kaiser Deluxe 4-door sedan.  While the Confidential Bulletin announcing the package indicated that Hydra-Matic would be a required option when the AG was ordered, there were a few with overdrive among the first cars built.  First series dragons had painted tops...The Sliver Dragon and Jade Dragons along with later Golden Dragons had vinyl tops as well as the interior trim.

It is worth noting that an issue of KAISER-FRAZER DEALER NEWS has a picture in it of someone from Edmonton coming down to Willow Run to pick up his Golden Dragon and drive it back to Canada.
