The picture isn't part of the book.  I just happened to find someone had stuck it in the book.  I bought the book from a long time member.

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I looked at the copy on ebay and it says "1956" on it so that pic could not have been in the that edition.  So that explains it.  The date of the photo was  August 2, 1974 in Dearborn.   
Somewhere I have a home movie of it.

pjkaiser: I would be interested in that book but surprisingly because of the Big Bill Knutsen content and not the H.J. Kaiser content. Big Bill was directly commissioned as a 3 star General in WWII in order to expedite conversion of industrial production  to war materials.

Both are noteworthy for various reasons, I really enjoyed the book on both of them.   It was a real eye opener on many different levels.   It informed me about Bill Knudsen's role in convincing FDR to just let the auto industry go with out government interference.  It also gave me more insights on  Henry J. Kaiser's thinking process.

I felt it was an all around great book on the times.
