Another museum closure
« on: December 17, 2018, 08:48:35 PM »
According to Yahoo News the 120,000 square foot auto museum in Tupelo Mississippi will be closing next Spring.  The cars are all to be Auctioned off by Bonham's Auction Company.  There is no list of the cars and we wonder how many Kaiser-Frazer-Willys products will be offered for sale.  People do not attend auto auto museums enough to support the expenses to run them.  It is sad to see so many museums not make it financially and have to break up huge collections.  At least the Hershey show still has about 2,000 cars on judging day and about 1,000 more in the swap meet areas for sale.

They have quite the collection of very nice cars, a Tucker is mixed in as well.  It will be interesting to see where they all end up.

Dicks Classic Car museum at 120 Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos, TX 78666 is also closing.   I visited there a few years ago, they have two kaisers and a Tucker.  It was a very nice museum as well.  Worth the visit.

Lots of museum seem to have Tuckers!   Amazing for a make with about 50 cars ever made.

We hashed this out about 8 months ago when that nice museum closed in Indiana or Ohio after the main contributor passed away.  That collection had a lot of orphans.  But all the city saw were dollar signs in the real estate and sale of cars.
No old cars owned.
