What's the best size 6 V for 6cyl ?  Present is 640.Keep on battery tender but old age has set in.

Can't speak o the size of a J battery but if you can find an AGM type that fits I recommend it.
Not cheap but AGM's have a self discharge rate that's less than 1 percent per month compared to the 3 to 7 percent per month of a flooded cell lead acid type.

Best set up I ever had was a 6 volt optima. Incomparable!

My Aero tray was too small but I managed to glue up a box that barely fit tray & battery. Used some textured plastic, battery caps & a reproduction battery sticker. The lid rests on top & the battery hold down keeps it together.
