It is just about to be the end for getting this information for non members of the club.  Our National officers who do not use the forum with the exception of the Mueller's have decided to not allow non members to access the forum in the near future.  It is too bad because many potential members have joined the club after seeing the fine service that is done for K-F owners with the forum.

Also some folks come on here only want a one time post to sell a car or parts.  I've acquired many parts from these types of posters. Maybe there should be an exception for "Cars For Sale" and "Parts for sale?"

This Forum has 2754 registered members - compared to 1118 current KFOCI members.  MORE THAN DOUBLE ARE NOT MEMBERS!

If they want to continue to access the Forum, the solution is simple: JOIN THE CLUB. If they're not interested in receiving publications the cost is a mere $5 annually.

If they want support from the club, they need to support the club.

I would strongly advise AGAINST this course of action. I expect it would be adversely effective for recruitment. We ought to be welcoming here, no different than you would interface and answer questions at a car show.

I came to know KFOCI through this forum. It's 2020. I found an answer here for a Willys question I searched Google for. Joined forum and asked more questions, ultimately joined KFOCI.

Well, membership numbers have been discussed.......at length........ here before. Ideas have been offered. I may have missed something but haven't seen anything new enacted, so apparently the results must still be the same.
I'm pretty sure that slamming the "front door" shut to forum internet access isn't going to help.

I'm going to go on the record here and make a totally frank and unambiguous prediction. The results of this new policy won't boost the declining membership but will boost the other open venues.

If anyone thinks the Willys section of the forum is dead now, where literally weeks can pass between posts, wait till the majority of the forum participants are given the boot.

Is this a case of do what I say not say what I do!!!

As I have stated before, I will not comment on any other site other than the Forum!!

As has happened so many times, and I have complained about an equal number of times, the subject matter of the original post has migrated to a totally unelated discussion.

Many may be interested in this new topic, and  may have relevant comments, but will never see it because of the original topic.

A new posting should have been initiated when this new thread was born.

This important topic was started by our National President with his announcement in his Presidents Message that he was going to stop non members from using the forum.  I am reaching out to non members who do use the forum as a heads up for them.  Most of us read everything that is posted on the forum as that is the most up to date news that we get regarding the happenings in the club.  Most of he National officers do not like or use the forum and prefer their own Facebook account.  Not all of us want to use Facebook because of loss of privacy and the exploitation of our personal information that Facebook likes to share.  I personally think that we should share information with all K-F-Willys owners and it would be great if everyone joined our club and many do over time.  Shutting them out of our club as mentioned just causes them to use the other free information that is all over the internet.
