Shift Lever Housing
« on: July 10, 2021, 07:03:41 AM »
Hello All,
 1951 Deluxe 3 speed standard
I have a lot of play in my Shifter and my mechanic has told me most of it is caused by the Shift Lever Housing.
Is this a serviceable part?I do not see any type of bushings that may need replacement.
I have checked the Service Manual but cannot find an answer.I have also replaced the shifter Linkage Bushings and hopefully that will help tighten things up as well.

Well just an update thanks to Chris from willow Run who referred me to French Lake Auto Parts I was able to get a Shift Lever Housing from a 49,000 mile parts car.It has been installed and the Car shifts as it should and is no longer jamming.

Thank you for posting your follow up on your solution and mentioning where we can go for similar parts. I have seen French Lake Auto Parts mentioned in other posts as well. Take care!
