Can anyone tell me the part numbers for the clutch disc and pressure plate for a 1949 Kaiser Deluxe with a 3 speed O.D. trans.  I have a #921977 disc and a #930340 pressure plate, are they the correct ones for my car?

You might want to move your question to the Kaiser forum, It might get better circulation then on the parts list.  Its a good question and I have a 49 traveler.

Assuming that these are Willys part numbers (K-F numbers never went that high on their own), the JEEP PARTS LIST OF POPULAR PARTS from December 1967 shows the 930340 as being correct for 4 cylinder and 230 overhead cam 6 motors; the 226 would use a 733581 which foots back to the K-F number for a 9 1/4 inch plate, and the 921977 also shows for the 4 cylinder engine, 9 1/4" diameter.  Correct Willys number there is 746240.

According to the Borg & Beck book, the correct clutch is a 9 1/4" type but not being a Master Mechanic, I could not tell you if there could be a problem here using the 4 cylinder set-up.

Thanks for the reply, I am also not sure if these parts would work. I know the clutch is a 9 1/4 with a 10 spline, but that is all I know. Working on this car I have found that there are parts from other cars that work like, Nash, Stude, and Chrysler. I pulled the clutch cover down and noticed that there are 9 springs on the plate instead of 3 on the plate I have. I also know that they had clutches with both 3 and 9 springs and that when they are replaced, only the 9 spring type is recommended. The biggest drawback with these cars is the fact that there is little information and sadly to say, few parts.

I don't know where you are at but I suggest you get the following books together as a reference

1.  Blue Cover 1947-48-49 (also works for 1950) Kaiser-Frazer factory Shop Manual

2.  1949 (also works for 1950) Kaiser-Frazer ILLUSTRATED parts list

This will help.

There are cross references but be aware that K-F used no less than 3 different types of clutch assemblies and plates, etc, are not that interchangeable.
