service standards for 1952-1954
« on: January 24, 2011, 01:44:38 PM »
I have a booklet that was produced in 54-55by WILLYS MOTORS INC TOLEDO OHIO that includes 24 pages of specs. ie: everything on engine, fuel, exhaust, cooling, trans, clutch, suspension, axles, steering, brakes, wheels, frame, all electrical lube & torques, it is so complete that it starts with overall length of the car by year how much a trans weighs, all the specs on the engine. , a/l & delco #s on the electrical per year p/ns for starters per gen. dist. on and on . Has any one reproduced it?  I checked with Jim Betts and he never heard of it. I made a copy for Ed Ewing and its a bible for him rather than go from memory.

Ben,  It wasn't that I have not heard of Service Standards Booklets.
I just did not remember there being a 54-54 version.

Is that version the one you show on the lower right of this image??

It is likely the one he is referring to since the one on the CD is for 52-54 models.

I think it was Carl Herring who had that version reprinted years ago. It was done very well as I recall.

As an example of what is in a "Service Standards" Booklet.
Here a Henry J one which is available online.
