Hidden Forums (Vintage Photos)
« on: February 08, 2011, 10:08:26 PM »
I am aware of 2 Forums that display vintage automotive photos.
One of these is Yenko http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=312145#Post312145

The other is http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428585&page=150

If you were to go to yenko.net or jalopyjournal.com, you would not find a link to this content so that is why I say these are HIDDEN.
I would urge you explore both although there is some overlap of posted photos. There are plenty KF and KW photos.

Great pictures on those sites. I could look at them all day. How many of you would allow this on your '51 Kaiser?

Alden Jewell lives in Yuba City CA and has one of the largest auto literature collections, automobile related postcards, and auto ad collections and really enjoys providing the site for collectors.  Look for continual additions.  He will be at the K-F meet in San Diego.

I looked up several of the pix mentioned in the post and the ones from the 50's are really nice. If you want to also see pictures (not as old) of the IKA Argentina Kaisers of the past, check out the following link:  http://oldcarandtruckpictures.com/Argentina/index.html
The funeral Kaisers are really weird.

Former Family:

1954 Kaiser Darrin #137
1948 Kaiser

I like this one. Based on the 'Hotel Astor' sign, I'd say the city is South Beach, Florida. There's a Kaiser and Henry J in the photo -

This an idea car but my opinion is it looks clunky both from dimensions and execution. The front wheel cut out is just STUPID!  And Howard was pissed that KF made changes?

I have several pictures of the Darrin car and they do not show the front wheel wells cut out as in these photos.  It was a pretty neat car for it's day! The design was from 1946!  I think that Dutch lived on one of the canyon roads above UCLA and it used to flood the roads frequently when it rained in the winter and this car was destroyed in one of the floods.
