If it is true, then this would be a rare find for a KF collector. Comments?
No old cars owned.

It sure looks like a 55...it has the taller sail on the hood ornament. Assuming it is, the price may be a bit high...but they are rare!

1.  You need the door post tag information...1955 Kaisers have Willys Motors tags on them and the serial number on the door post tag starts out with a 5 digit number rather than the "K" prefix used on 1954 and prior years.

2.  The hood ornament piece with the larger sale was the same one used by IKA down in Argentina; a number of these were imported by the Buchinger family and sold to owners of 1954 and 1955 Kaisers.  Another reason to know the door post info.

$7500 double ouch!   The rechrome alone will cost a small fortune. No pictures of rear......if it's missing taillights or they are cracked, good luck!  No pictures of engine or trunk.  Sorry, I think the decimal point is off one.

I asked the Seller to snap a photograph of the door tag just to confirm, and looks like we have a real '55 Manhattan on our hands.

anyone want to save this one?

I just e-mailed the seller and asked her. She was very accommodating.

I just checked the Registry and it was one of two 55 Kaisers reported by Barefoot in North Carolina. There are 36 reports of 51367 4 door sedans, 8 51363 export 4 door sedans, and 10 51467 2 door sedans. There are more than than that around, surely.

Who is the owner anyway?  I've lived in NC 27 of the 29 years I've been in KFOCI and I've never run across this Barefoot fellow.  He must be a real character (if he's even still alive).

At one time I heard Barefott owned dozens of KF cars.  Maybe I should make a road trip?  Likely all parts cars like the one pictured but would make an interesting Saturday activity.

Any parts you can save are always a good thing Mike.  It's probably worth checking out.  And my smart-a$$ remark was simply to use the joke from "Airplane!" as Logan pointed out. No offense to Jim B PEI intended!
