The Club Historian is on the move!
« on: June 06, 2012, 07:44:32 PM »
As of May 21, 2012 I am the new Resident Engineer for Nemak S.A. at the General Motors Tonawanda NY Engine Plant #1 on River Road.  This is a transfer from Cleveland and is expected to run until retirement (a number of years from now).

I will be commuting home to Ohio most weekends to help Barbara with packing.  We are hoping to move up here on or about August 1 and, if things work out, Barbara and i will be at the meet in Auburn NY on the 11th.

As a result, I will have limited access to my K-F stuff from now until at least late August/early September.

Jack - Is that the "History on Wheels" show in August? Auburn is about 30 minutes west of me, maybe Darrin 145 will be there! Congratulations on the transfer, and don't forget the snow shoes!

Gary.

Also, Jack is mentioned in Hemmings Motor News this month as a respondant to an article.
No old cars owned.

I believe the event darrin145 refers to near his home.  The Eastern Division of the KFOCI has dovetailed an event of their own into this weekend.  Because Barbara and I are not sure what we will be doing the last half of July/First half of August, the actual decision on going or not can't be made until very close to the weekend, I would guess.

Jack,
Are you and Barbara going to be at Sweetwater? Sounds like your schedule might be a bit tight for it, but try to make it. I'd like an opportunity to just sit down and talk with you about the judging standards that we started so many years ago and some general kibbitzing besides. Hope you can get there.
By the way, Nemak is Kamen spelled backwards.

Because of the new job and the move, the national this year is out of the question and the national next year in Indiana may also be iffy.  When you work for a car company in my position, you are at the mercy of the car company's production schedules and take vacation when (or in some cases, IF) there is the normal summer shutdown.  This year GM will run all summer long.
