body assembly
« on: December 18, 2012, 08:52:41 AM »
Does someone have info on where/ how panels were welded to each other. I am thinking on disassembling the two bodies and putting the upper panels on the 51 floor, thanks, Henry.

Body panels on all K-F products were fixtured into a shell then welded with a commercial welder unit that was hand held (the big heavy guns) rather than automatic.  Look on the inside of the shell for the seams.  Be sure to remove the rear fenders (they bolt on) to check condition of the inside quarter panels.  Water could seep in the seal along with dust and airborne crud.

There are no assembly prints that I know of showing the weld points and particulars.
