The '51 Js have the mirror mounted through the headliner as pictured in the previous post. The '53 Js have the mirror mounted on the center division bar on the windshield. This was done because the '53 Henry J has a dome light, standard on all cars - not optional as is often stated. I've seen '52 Corsairs with the rear view mirror mounted on the center division bar, but I've seen no factory documentation which indicates this was original on '52s. I would not go so far as to say it was not original as we all know there were a number of "running changes" on the KF line of cars. The two style mirrors do not interchange - they look similar but the mounting stem is completely different on them. The later style has more rounded corners and if I'm not mistaken, is the same that was used on the '51 Kaiser specials, which was also mounted on the windsheild center trim bar. Day/Night mirror was available as an option on the Henry J as a factory item - I've never seen one. It would be very easy to mount one from a '51 Kaiser Deluxe in a Henry J and I'm sure someone has done it. Edgar Kaiser's Henry J has a day/night mirror in it but it's not a factory one.
