How hard is it to find a Trans shop to rebuild a standard trans without over drive. Am I right that the trans in the 48  is a Bog warner T 86 thanks Harry

I had the std trans w/od rebuilt once on my '47 Frazer at a regular trans shop.  They can still get all the parta apparantly.   But, the outcome depends on the quality of the mechanic.  It took them several trys to get it right but it was eventually ok.   Talk to several shops in your area before selecting someone.  In retrospect I think I probably could have done it myself.  Have fun!  Jim
