Length is about 25" - not a good picture but 25" should do it.

If it ever stops raining here I can open the door and get some good light and try this one again.

If you need the clip I just received some good information on it.

"this Jeep part has to be a direct fit. I recall being hard-up for one of these clips on more than one occasion.

This is the clip that holds the end of the rod when it's stowed, not the clip I posted earlier that the rod fastens and pivots in.

I know I am replying to a pretty old post. But I am having a heck of a time figuring out how to mount the hood on my 51 J without it scrapping the cowl. I read you note. Has anyone come up with a solution? I am considering fabricating simple hinges instead of using the originals because of this very problem. My car was not an original restoration so I am not concerned about it not being original.

Anyway, anybody ever figure it out? I have heard stronger(?) springs will help?

Many years ago the bulletin contained helpful hints and "how to do" advice. This was published at least 30 years ago in the bulletin.When Our current old geezers are called home to beaulaland ,these things go with us as no compilation has ever been made.

Great article and thanks for posting. Regarding the last few lines, I also have three different kinds of fender trim for my 54 HJ. The cast pieces are heavy but seem to be the ones that held up the best over time.
