Nice looking car. Is the single-tone (as opposed to a two-tone) paint unusual on a '53? I noticed that the data plate was not included in the pics, so I suppose the 'original' color scheme cannot be determined from the information provided?

I wanted to say that two tone is more often seen but for me - not in the 2 doors. Generally I see single tone 2 doors.

This car is pretty nice.  Craigs Listers rarely include the data plate because usually only geeks like us care.  Jack M. always wants to see the data plates because of all the information.

These are such nice cars and all for under $10,000.

No old cars owned.

Factory two-toning of Kaisers in 1953 was reserved for the Manhattan series.  Check out KFOCI HANDBOOK's section on the 1953 deLuxe to see the full range of factory colors.

Production of cars for the 1953 model year stopped at the end of June when UAW local 149 went on strike at Willow Run.  While the strike only lasted around 6 weeks, the plant remained shuttered in order to burn out inventory of 1953 models.  When production started back up in late October the company ran 1954 models starting with build-out of Henry J's.  That information comes from a story in the industry trade publication AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRIES.
