Today's parts in our cars
« on: July 07, 2015, 04:42:06 PM »
I took a box of parts to my local NAPA store to see if the guy could cross reference my old shocks, dimmer switch, rubber bump stops, and tie rod ends with parts in his catalog.  The short answer is no - but I began thinking, surely thru the years the membership has gathered here and there things from the various auto parts stores that work in our cars.  Switches, wheel bearings..?

I would like to make a web page that shares all this info, listing all the parts, numbers and where you bought it.  You can email me at twintraction(at)gmail.com

Thanks!

Wow, Jim, this is great stuff!
As a newbie to Kaiser, was the Henry J very or somewhat similar to the rest of the Kaiser sedan family, under the skin, so to speak?

Regarding compatibility between HJ and big Kaiser parts, most tune up stuff will swap (plugs, points, cap, rotor, etc) if Delco equipped 6 cylinder. Otherwise HJ stuff is closer to Willys than Kaiser.

All NAPA - Delco equipped:
Cap - RR95
Rotor - RR83
Points - CS 777a
And, you mentioned shocks...all big Kaisers used the same shocks. A modern equivalent is Gabriel 82026 for the front and 81318 for the rear.
