« on: December 20, 2015, 10:09:54 AM »
Hello Everybody,
Will a '54 steering wheel mount to a '53 column?
Thanks,

I've seen it done but it looks out of place.

do you need a tenite plastic wheel (manhattans & dragons) or a rubber wheel (deluxe and Carolina) or do you just prefer the look of the 1954?

It is a perfect fit if the wheel is from an "Early Special" 1954. It's the same wheel! If it's a 1954 Manhattan or a late Special, that's a different wheel.

Thanks for the replies & info, I have a good steering wheel that I can repair, but, I like the bullet middle K topped wheel, it looks smaller and more futuristic. Does anyone have an old one they are willing to part with?
Thanks again,
Doc Wasson

I have 2 used 54 steering wheels in good condition.  They have minor cracks in the usual places but can be easily repaired.  I did it myself on my 54 and respray gloss black.  $75 each plus shipping.

Also have 1 plastic steering wheel "K" medallion.  Believe it is NOS.  $65 plus shipping (will be in January Bulletin).

If interested e-mail me.  mbfleming@aol.com
