Two new Darrins to my collection

I acquired # 394 & 91 recently. # 394 need a little work # 91 need total restoration. The one pic shows me lifting the body off #394 to do some work on the frame to make it first class.
Guess I just love these cars. My problem is my wife probably won't let me buy a auto transporter to haul them all to the convention.
It is nice to see so many of you working on Darrins.

I like them both!

I've got the wheels from my car at the blaster to get them cleaned up for paint. So, while the car is up in the air, I'm flat on my back cleaning, degreasing and painting. It never seems to end...

It does end and the fun begins. At car shows and everywhere you take the car it is nonstop people. Be prepared to talk nonstop. If you don't like to talk all day don't take the car.

We have a large Tuesday evening cruise in that routinely draws a thousand cars. They devote one show to Corvette night. You know where my Darrin will be that evening! When I had car #30 I took it to the show and everyone walked past the 'Vette's to see the Darrin. I sorta liked that.

When I take my Darrins that is exactly what happens. If more of us would take our KF cars we might spur membership. Our cars our are best ambassadors.

Actually, it should be Darrin # 50 and Darrin # 2 ---- for 502!!

When I took my Darrin to shows, if I wanted a break from talking, I had to just walk away.   I had enough signage and my book to let those most interested delve while I was gone.   Every 5 - 10 min. there would be a new crowd.

When I was showing my 52 ALLSTATE, I got into  heated arguments with "Knowledgeable" car buffs maintaining that Sears never had a car and mine was a phony.

I never argue with people if they think the car had a radio I just say mine didn't.
If the say why did you take out the bench seat I say the same thing.
These have both happened.
A lot of people try to empress their friends how much they know about cars I just let them.
It is just fun to have people like what you have.

Started working on both Darrins # 394 & # 91
Took the bodies off both, stripped the frame on 394 and took it to get it media blasted.
It was supposed to be done but not even close to my standard.
Will strip the frame on # 91 next week and get it to the media blaster.

Looking at the pictures it's obvious you've done this once or twice before. It's nice to have the space to do the work. I'm starting the process of house hunting and a top requirement is enough shop space to take a car apart and not trip over everything once it's in pieces.

I'm the same Lee. I remember one night an old timer explained to me "The difference between the Kaiser and Frazer was the Frazer had suicide doors and the straight-eight was only available in the Frazer"  He seemed like nice old gentleman so who was I to argue with him?
