Ultra ultra rare barn find 1951 Kaiser Deluxe traveler two door utility Coupe

America's first production hatchback

This car was only offered in a two-door model for one year and this one is Body number 196. I have been told that only 367 where produced.

Additionally this car is number 3 of only 13 listed on the National kaiser-frazer Registry

I have campaigned this car for some years now and it's Barn found condition and it was fun to drive.

yes it is a rat and would never won a trophy due to its outward appearance but the joy that it brings to others is Worth showing no matter how rough it is

I cannot count how many Old Timers I have heard out of the words where did you ever find this car I've been a fan of Kaiser for 50 plus years and I have never seen one of these things

yes this car is Kaiser's version of a white whale

A year ago I was forced to park this car and since then my so destroyed the wiring also know this car has no interior fabric other than the front and rear seat covers repeat no carpet headliner door panels also the rubber seals are in very poor condition and has been lost of the ravages of time and exposure

since acquiring the car much metal work has been done to complete the floors rocker panels and quarter panels however the trunk floor was not repaired I have and will include the stamping from a rust-free donor

also are included all of the original wide stainless steel body side moldings trim parts hundreds of spare mechanical parts that I have acquired over the years

let's face it if you want to own a very unique and different rat Survivor this is one of only 13 known to exist in the world out of only 367 ever produced Less

Actually, America's first production hatchback was the 1949 Kaiser Traveler/Vagabond.  A '51 tudor Traveler hatchback is rare none-the-less. I hope it finds a good home.

The black hood ornaments were used on the '52 Virginians but many of them have been changed out/replaced.  There seemed to be a lot of black plastic parts for those ornaments available in years gone by so it was changed at one time.

The serial number listed in the ebay ad indicates it's a '51.  K512 - '51 Deluxe

Is this car still Kaiser six-cylinder powered? Is it drivable on the highway (noted the part about the wiring being destroyed and sitting for a year)?

Thanks!

Yes, this car still runs & drives. However, due to the wiring issues the lights / wipers / blower motor aren't working & the overdrive will not engage so top speed in 3rd gear is only 45-50 MPH
