Terry Zeug Passes away
« on: February 26, 2014, 09:33:34 PM »
I just read on Facebook that Terry passed away from cancer today...he turned 72 just this past Monday.  Although we never met in person, we traded many e-mails and parts over the years.  I considered him one of my best KF friends.  I miss him already.  RIP pal.  Say hello to Henry & Joe for us.

Terry and I had been pen pals for many years...I would buy bits and pieces from him and he would do the same from me. We finally met at the national in San Diego and it was like we'd just seen one another the day before. He was a warm and friendly guy.

Yes, Terry was an interesting character...and a prolific ebay seller...but he was also a Viet Nam veteran who proudly served but never mentioned it. He will be missed.

Very sad news indeed.  I also have written Terry for years and traded KF parts from time to time.  I was glad I finally got a chance to meet him in person at the National in San Diego where we had about a 3 hour conversation in the parking lot.  He was always willing to help in any way he could.  I will miss bidding against him on eBay.  I will forever remember him as a great friend.

Met Terry the first time in 1989 at the Long Beach convention when we stayed on the Queen Mary . Always friendly to me and very helpful with finding parts . We met again in San Diego and had a good visit . When i told Deb he was there she said she had to meet him as i was always talking about him . We would bid against each other on EBAY . I would buy his " STUFF " he would buy from me . He always left very good friendly feedback  when you bought or sold to him .
I will miss seeing him when we go to the West coast for conventions .

Terry Zeug testimonial. I first met him at the National at the Queen Mary and bought from him at lest a couple of dozen times after then.

Example of dealing that defined Terry,

I badly stripped the threads on the brass fitting that goes in the inlet of the Henry J carb. I described it to Terry on the phone and he said send it to him, he would try to match it up with one of his. Well he did not have one and sent mine back. Somehow he managed to restore the threads on mine. It fit and worked well. NO CHARGE. He even absorbed the shipping back to me.

Terry's nephew contacted me today...he would like to sell Terry's K-F inventory as one large lot to anyone who might be interested. Terry lived in Camarillo, CA. Anyone who is interested can contact me and I will pass along the information.

So sad to hear of Terry passing, we traded emails recently so I could get his latest list and he mentioned he was having a tough time.  He was always friendly and had a knack for finding nice parts, he'll surely be missed.
I posted his parts list in the parts forum that he emailed a few weeks ago.

I'm sorry to hear of Terry Zeug's passing.  I bought several dozen parts and literature from him over the years on Ebay and always found him to be helpful and honest.

We are very sorry to hear of Terry's passing. Being n the southeast, we never met Terry but we did buy many parts from him over the years and received good technical advice. It was always amazing how he could get parts shipped all the way across the country so quickly. We will miss him.

Terry was close enough to me that I could drive to his home to pick up larger parts.  I had known him for all of the forty years that I have been a member and Terry was always looking for KFW parts and he was a great source for them.  He will certainly be missed by our members.  Terry owned and recently sold Edgar Kaiser's personal low mileage Darrin.

Terrible loss. The first time I met Terry was when I met a lot of SoCal KF folk for the first time, their 1978 Christmas party. Terry was driving a '55 Manhattan with a Olds Rocket 88 engine. We were chatting about some parts online and I asked him about that car. He sold it to someone in VA and it was one of his favorites. I hope Terry's tooling around in that car in KF heaven.
