1952 Aero Sedan Rear Glass - Wanted
« on: February 27, 2017, 01:20:25 PM »
Hello,

I'm starting my search for the curved rear glass for my '52 Aero Wing.  It is the one piece rear glass that measures (roughly) 18" high, 53" wide at the bottom and 48" wide at the top.  If you have it in good condition, I'd be interested in a purchase.

I am still learning about the differences between the 52 and the 53-55 models, so if any of the later years also had that size rear glass that would be good to know to help me with my search.

Shipping to 92083 plus insurance.  Thank you.

The smaller rear window (like yours) was used in the 1952-1953 Larks, 1952 Wings, 1953 Falcons and the early 1954 Larks. I may have an extra, I'm in GA and nervous about shipping.

Same here...I'm sure I have one and I'm even more sure it would be broken enroute. I'm in Ohio.

Yep, shipping something like that is certainly a challenge. Glass companies seem to have it down, but I understand the issue for a private party.  It would probably need to be in a crate and on a pallet. A lot of work.

Thanks for the cross reference info. That helps.

I bought a windshield from a glass seller and the seller insisted it be shipped to another glass company. I got a local company to receive it. I think shipping was around $135. Packed in a cardboard box with an astonishingly small amount of styrofoam edge padding.
Maybe check with a local glass dealer for packaging they would already have, or even shipping too?
