Found on craigslist. It looks like a 51, it's in Redding California and is free for the taking. Hopefully someone rescues it.

Actually this car is in among Redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens) near Eureka, CA which is on the California coast itself, 3 hours and 149 miles from Redding, California (which is closer to Mt Shasta than the coast).   The ad specifically mentions Kneeland and Greenwood Heights which are near Eureka.

The Redding area is much drier, and the trees you find in the lower elevations outside of Redding before one gets to Mt. Shasta are Gray, Knobcone and Ponderosa Pines; Douglas Fir; and Blue, Black and Canyon Live Oaks - a very different environment than the area shown in the car pictures.  The Eureka area is relatively damp.  In case you are wondering, the big trees in the Sierras are Giant Sequioas (Sequoia gigantea) - a different species than the trees shown in the pictures.

The redwood bark and cones and "duff" around the car likely contain a lot of tannins, a weak acid.  I suspect the car is beyond saving if it has been sitting in this material for a long time.  Folks used to collect the tannin from redwood bark and used it to tan leather.  Still - the car is free and may be worth a look if you live close enough to it.
