It is in better condition than some asking twice that price.

The chrome parts on that car look like they would be worth the money asked for the whole car.

It's a 54 Early Special...not a common car that's probably in better shape than anything sitting that long around here.

The differences include:

Early Specials used the 1953 Kaiser body shell and interiors.  Late Specials for 1954 had the 1954 Kaiser Manhattan body and 1954 type interiors with 1954 Manhattan type dashboards.

Neither early or late versions were offered with superchargers although you could get Hydra-Matic as an option.

Leftover 1953 Kaisers were turned into Early Specials by pulling off the front clip and rear fender top spears and tail lights. 1954 tail light assemblies and front clip were installed and the entire lower body was then repainted. Unrestored Early Specials today tend to have better paint on the body, thanks to the extra coat, and less so on the front clip and top. This car bears that out, although the sun has taken its toll.

Many years ago I attended a UAW reunion of KF factory employees. It was fascinating to hear about how they assembled the cars. My only regret was not taking a tape recorder with me - I had paper and pen but just couldn't write fast enough!
