Something's not right about that ad or the seller is unaware.  The '48 Kaiser has a one barrel carb (unless it is a Custom) not a 2 as stated in the ad. Also the '48 Kaiser has a 21 gallon gas tank, not a 13 as the ad states.  It has a very nice looking factory radio in it.

Maybe he replaced the 20 gallon with a" NEW " 13 gallon.  Who cares if it is a one or 2 barrel carb. Stop the NIT PICKING . We all know people make mistakes in there posting of vehicles . It part of Craigslist )

I don't take Fid's posts as nit picking. It helps people like me, who don't know, to know what is correct and what's not. Now I'm not trying to make my 48 a 100 point car but it's still nice to know what is correct.

Thanks. I thought that's what these forums were all about.  Some people are just over-sensitive.  If I see a post I don't like, I overlook it and move on. That's very easy to do.  If some see that as being a "Nit-picker", I proudly wear the hat.

Is the club doing both New Tanks for New Kaiser Old Kaiser Frazer ?

I go back to Last Onslaught if I forget.
If We been in Club a long time I think its good to keep info correct.

I think the person who buys it and tries to install a 2 barrel carb on a single barrel manifold to find it won't work will care.

I've helped many a restorer who was dealing with incorrect parts that won't  work on their car. And when I say "incorrect " I mean functionally incorrect  (dual throat carb on  single throat manifold etc.) as opposed to emblems or hose clamp etc.
Just trying to help anyone who might be interested, to understand what they may have to deal with.
Again, if that makes me a nit-picker in some person's mind, I proudly wear the hat.

Fids sharp eye and great knowledge of Kaiser's and Frazer's has helped more of us than anyone else on the forum over many years.  His intention has been to point out to us details easily overlooked.  Most of us welcome his comments and we look forward to many more!

Sorry Fid......I was just trying to point out that a lot of Craigslist cars have wrong information . Because the person does not know the real facts about the car .

Thanks Gordie - I too appreciate all of those folks who take the time to help others get what they need for their cars.

G.B. regarding a dual throat carb on the Custom - it was actually an option on the '48 Custom. It was not standard. The '47/'48 Customs are very unique and interesting KF cars.

In May 1948, Kaiser-Frazer made early release of the dual-manifold version of the 226 (it was originally planned to be a stand-out feature starting with the 1949 Kaiser Deluxe and Frazers).  This had the2-bbl carb.  If you have a 1948 Kaiser listed for sale, the carbureator type is important as a Custom with the dual-manifold 6 (properly equipped as a 1948 engine) is a more unusual and (for some) more desirable vehicle.  Also, you could get overdrive as an option on 1948 Kaiser Customs with the optional dual-manifold motor.
