1954 Kaiser-Willys Press Kit
« on: September 08, 2018, 05:08:30 PM »
In looking over the 1954 Press Kit it mentions the new power of the Kaisers and Willys derived from the supercharger on some Kaisers and a bigger engine for some of the Willys cars.  Both did their jobs but did not add to sales which were so desperately needed at the time.  The press kit also mentions the availability of power steering on Willys cars.  Was that option ever offered?  It would certainly be nice to have.  You can't really trust press kits and sales literature as they were written long before the cars were finalized.  The Darrin press kit mentions that Hydramatic would be an available option!

Power steering is mentioned in Rick's new Willys Aero Reference Guide book.
It states that the early '54 Parts Supplement book listed part numbers for power assist in Group 35-71, but those were removed in the revised edition.
