I bought your 1954 Kaiser Salesman's facts book.  I had never seen one and am glad to have found it.  You have a fine collection.

For you literature collectors, I bought the "1949 Special mat service for Kaiser-Frazer Dealers" book that was offered by a member in the last Bulletin.  I have several for 1949 but I had never seen this one.  It is 14x20 inches in size with 18 pages plus the covers and contains many sample newspaper ads that were new to me including the sedans,, Traveler, Vagabond, taxis, used cars and dealer announcement day ads along with 19 suggested radio announcements plus selling slogans to use for each body style when making up your own advertising for the new cars.  It must have been an earlier printing as it does not include the hard tops or convertibles. It is the largest piece of K-F literature I have ever seen and I wonder how many survived.  K-F sent out two separate press kits for the Kaiser as well as the Frazer and one on the Vagabond and Traveler combined as well as on the Vagabond by itself plus another booklet titled  "How to Profit from the Traveler" and yet another mailing with"1949 Model Announcement" on the envelope and full of brochures from the Distributor urging the dealers to attend the showing of the new cars in Willow Run. 1949 and 1951 seem to be the years that had the most literature printed.

Yours is probably the only one that is still around.    I tried to buy it but you beat me to it.  Are you able to scan a few pages of material  for use by Barbara and I in the Quarterly or Bulletin as page fillers.

You were fast ... When I called on it that first day, you had already scooped it up!!  Congratulations.  Why don't you send it to me for scanning and posting on CIRCLEKF.  Then we can all enjoy it.  I will send it back to you after scanning.  PROMISE.   :D

It is very large, do you think that it could be scanned and reduced?

I don't see why not as long as 300 dpi is used during the process.  This way, if someone wants to enlarge it, you are less likely to have image issues.

I do all my scanning at 200 dpi.  The images sizes get huge at 300 dpi.  If you print at actual size that is fine.. On the internet the images are very clear for reading.  But Jack is correct they will not enlarge very well.

If the page you are scanning is larger than your scanner bed. Scan the top and then scan the bottom and reassemble using tool ... being an old guy I use MS Paint.  Works fine.

Gordie,

https://circlekf.com/sourceslide.php?pub=KF&srcpub=KF&typ=AM&nbr=1951e&action=go&pag=2&NEXT=GO+FastPath

Because this document is larger than my scanner bed it had to be two scans for each page.
Then I had to put them together with MS Paint.
You can see the line between them scans but it is all there.
At 200 DPI I think they are clear enough.  You can read them.

Jim, you did a perfect job of matching the two halves and nothing is lost.  Hopefully that is the largest K-F literature piece that we will find unless you want to try a 10 ft. x 20 ft. roadside billboard that is in many small sections.  Thanks for saving this one for us!

I am afraid the 53 version of this piece is much bigger.  It took four scans per page to be patched together.

https://circlekf.com/sourceslide.php?pub=KF&typ=AM&nbr=1953&pag=0

I got pretty good at it over the years.  Hundreds of Ads are 11 X 14.   A couple of winters ago Jack let me scan his Tabloid Collection ... 4 to 8 pages each - over 300 of those.  All taking a double scan and piecing them back together.

During the 1952 and 1953 model years, Kaiser-Frazer sent out "window posters" of various shapes (rectangular, square, etc) and sizes that dealers could put up in their showroom windows.  I have one of them from 1953 promoting that for the second year in a row, the Henry J turned in top actual miles-per-gallon in the Mobilgas Economy Run.  this thing measures 58 inches by 18 inches and is one long sheet of paper.   I got it out and took a picture of it.

Note the green "duckmobile" Hot Wheels test cars.  Samples were also made with a white duckie.

Wall or window posters started with the 1947 models and I probably have over twenty of them but they are really not considered literature as they were not available or handed out to the public but some are very interesting and we probably should try to make a list of them by year model,  Dave Antram has a large collection of them with many framed in his building in PA.  Many were done in black and white with many in color also and many touting new features or promotions.
